Reiki for Animals
Nancy has always had a special connection with animals and has given Reiki to her own and other peoples' animals for around 12 years. She has found that they respond very well to Reiki healing, and they enjoy the sensation that Reiki provides.
What is Reiki Healing for Animals?
Reiki is a very gentle, non invasive therapy that is ideal for use with animals. They respond intuitively to the Reiki to heal emotional, behavioural and physical illnesses and injuries. For animals that are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment.
For animals that are ill or injured Reiki is a wonderful method of healing as well as a safe complement to Veterinary care (please ensure you seek medical treatment from a fully qualified Veterinary practice. Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended as an alternative to conventional veterinary care). Reiki sessions can promote speedier healing from the trauma of accidents or surgery, and can be beneficial to older animals although it cannot reverse the aging process. Reiki can help ease pain, relieve stress, and bring balance to their mind body and spirit.
During the distressing time when a beloved pet is preparing for transition into the next world, Reiki can be used as a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear and anxiety, and to ease their transition. The bond between you and your animal is respected at all times during this difficult period.
Which animals will benefit from Reiki?
All animals whether large or small, young or old will benefit from Reiki treatments.
Where would the Reiki take place?
Nancy recommends that she treats your animal in their own home as they tend to relax more and are more receptive to the Reiki healing.
What happens during a treatment?
Your animal will be encouraged to lie in their bed or stand / sit if they prefer. Every animal is treated and respected as a unique being. Nancy will do healing work in the best way possible for your animal. Some animals respond well to the healing while relaxing music is playing during their treatment.
Since Reiki can also be sent effectively from a distance it means that Reiki can be used on animals that can be nervous or aggressive whilst keeping them calm and safe. For more information on distant healing click here. How much is a treatment? In general it is preferable to see animals in their own home / environment to reduce their stress, so the price includes travel to your animal's address (within 5 miles of Nottingham). For further distances please contact Nancy for a price.

Note: In cases of illness or disease you should seek the advice from a qualified Veterinary Practice. Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended as an alternative to conventional veterinary care.
The Veterinary Surgery Act of 1966 prohibits anyone other than a qualified veterinary surgeon from treating animals, including diagnosis of ailments and giving of advice on such diagnosis. However the healing of animals by contact healing, by the laying on of hands or distant healing is legal. However the Protection of Animals Act 1911 requires that if an animal clearly needs treatment from a veterinary surgeon the owner must obtain this. Therefore before treating animals the owner must provide assurance to the complementary practitioner that the animal has been examined by a Veterinary Surgeon who is content for Reiki healing to be given. To give emergency First Aid to animals for the purpose of saving life or relieving pain is permissible under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 Schedule 3.
